About the Scholarship

Founded in 2021, the program began with a commitment of $1 million total, but is now expanded to $2 million. Students in good academic standing and currently enrolled as sophomore undergraduates, or first year Masters or PhD students, are invited to apply. Students will be selected to receive a $20,000 scholarship each.

PIMCO’s Future Leaders Scholarship is designed for Black and Hispanic/Latino/a/x students who have an interest in investment management and wish to pursue a career in finance by way of continued education. Scholarships will be awarded to candidates who have the potential to excel as leaders and exhibit PIMCO’s CORE values of collaboration, openness, responsibility, and excellence.

Details of the Program

  • Eligibility Criteria

    1. Identify as Black or African-American and/or Hispanic/Latino/a/x
    2. Undergraduates enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university as a sophomore, in good academic standing
    3. MBA or Masters students entering the 1st year of their U.S.-based program (proof of admittance & intention to attend will be required)
    4. Ph.D. students enrolled in a U.S. institution, in good academic standing

Future Leaders Scholarship

In-Person Event

As part of the scholarship experience, recipients will be invited to visit our Newport Beach office headquarters, where they can network with peers and PIMCO’s senior leaders, experience an immersive learning environment, and even enjoy fun SoCal activities. A reception will be held to award recipients with their scholarship, and to celebrate their future as the next generation of financial leaders.
